The DIS is coming to Sofia to waive its flag on Bulgarian soil with an event specially aimed at presenting the DIS and attracting leading Bulgarian legal professionals to DISpute resolution under the Patronage of the Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany to the Republic of Bulgaria. CEE states are a very important market where the DIS undertakes to grow and establish a solid position. The country as being in the heart of the Balkan peninsula represents a jurisdiction where the DIS would like to provide its services more frequently.

The programme of the event in Sofia features:

  • an introduction of the DIS, the DIS Arbitration Rules and the DIS Case Management;
  • an overview of the advantages of Germany as place for arbitration of CEE disputes and
  • a panel discussion with Bulgarian arbitration practitioners exploring the mechanisms in the DIS Arbitration Rules designed to improve the efficiency of arbitration.

Special guests of the event in Sofia will be Irene Maria Plank, Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany to the Republic of Bulgaria and the Secretary General of the DIS Ramona Schardt.

Join us on 8 December 2023 at 2.00 pm (EET)/1.00 pm (CET) for an afternoon of practical learning and networking with professionals from Bulgaria and abroad. The event is jointly organised by DIS and DIS40 and in particular by Evgenia Peiffer, DIS40  Co-Chair and Ivan Petrov, Counsel, DIS. The event is sponsored by CMS.

Please note: The XVI Belgrade Open Pre-Moot, which will take place on 16 and 17 March 2024, will be traditionally supported by the DIS again next year.
