Last year we surveyed our members’ interest in setting up bilateral arbitration groups and, meanwhile, several groups commenced their activities. Together with our sister organizations abroad, we plan to establish a continuous and productive exchange in order to create an institutional framework for sustainable cooperation and to better connect our German arbitration community internationally.
The CRCICA/DIS Arbitration Group, co-chaired by Dr Kilian Bälz, is now hosting its first German event and cordially invites all members interested in Egyptian arbitration and the work of the CRCICA.
CRCICA/DIS Arbitration Group: Round Table with Dr Ismail Selim, Director of CRCICA

The CRCICA is the oldest arbitration institution in the MENA Region. Since its inception in 1979, CRCICA has developed into a leading arbitration institution with a reach far beyond Egypt. CRCICA regularly is the forum of choice for large infrastructure contracts in Egypt.
Dr Selim will provide an introduction to the services of CRCICA and will discuss the findings of the African Development Bank Assessment Report on CRCICA and on Egypt as a seat of arbitration dated 2014 and updated in 2022. Finally, Dr Selim will briefly speak about his activity as newly elected President of the International Federation of Commercial Arbitration Institutions (IFCAI).
