Das Frankfurt International Arbitration Center von DIS und IHK Frankfurt/Main (FIAC) wurde auf Initiative der DIS und IHK Frankfurt gegründet, nachdem die DIS im Dezember 2005 mit ICSID ein Kooperationsabkommen gem. Art. 53 ICSID-Convention geschlossen hatte. Das Abkommen sieht vor, dass ICSID-Schiedsgerichtsverfahren am FIAC durchgeführt werden können, ohne dass es einer weiteren Genehmigung durch das ICSID-Sekretariat bedarf.

Das FIAC ist im Gebäude der IHK Frankfurt beheimatet und bietet Räumlichkeiten und praktische Unterstützung für die Durchführung von mündlichen Verhandlungen im Rahmen von Schiedsgerichtsverfahren an. Die Dienstleistungen stehen für alle nationale und internationale Schiedsverfahren (DIS, ICC, ICSID) zur Verfügung, können aber auch für andere Verfahren der außergerichtlichen Streitbeilegung genutzt werden.

The Frankfurt International Arbitration Center of DIS and FCIC Frankfurt/Main (FIAC) was founded on the initiative of DIS and the Frankfurt Chamber of Industry and Commerce (FCIC), after the DIS in December 2005 had concluded an cooperation agreement with ICSID under Art. 53 ICSID-Convention. The cooperation agreement allows the conduct of ICSID arbitration proceedings at the FIAC, without requiring specific approval by the ICSID secretariat.

The FIAC is located on the site of the FCIC and offeres rooms and support in the conduct of oral hearings in arbitration proceedings. The services can be used in all national and international arbitration proceedings (DIS, ICC, ICSID), but are also available for other alternative dispute resolution proceedings.
